Career

Love Warrior (2016), about the collapse and rebuilding of her marriage, was selected for Oprah’s Book Club and also hit number one. Her third memoir, Untamed (2020), chronicling her divorce, her coming out, and her marriage to soccer star Abby Wambach, became a cultural phenomenon and a number-one New York Times bestseller. She founded the nonprofit Together Rising, which has raised tens of millions of dollars for women and children in crisis.
Major Works

Writing Style and Themes
Doyle writes confessional memoir in short, punchy chapters that read like intimate conversation. Her voice is raw, funny, and urgently sincere. Her recurring themes are the cages women build for themselves, people-pleasing, addiction and recovery, motherhood, faith deconstructed and rebuilt, and the courage to live truthfully. Her famous formulation, that women should stop being “good” and start being whole, became a rallying cry for her readers.
Legacy
Doyle became one of the most influential memoirists and feminist voices of the 2010s and 2020s, with Untamed selling millions of copies and inspiring a devoted global community. Her philanthropic work through Together Rising has made her a significant figure in grassroots giving, and her public relationship with Abby Wambach made her an icon of LGBTQ+ visibility.
